University Training

University Parliamentary Training

IPT University Training is designed for academics and other University staff to increase their understanding of UK Parliament. The sessions look at the functions and process of Parliament, with a specific focus on how Parliament uses academic research.

Seminars can be tailored for specific group’s needs, including those from both a science and social science background, as well as delegates with a limited understanding of UK Parliament.

The seminars are run by Huw Edwards, Parliamentary & Government Training Consultant. Huw is the former member of Parliament for Monmouth as well as a former university lecturer. In 2005 Huw became an Independent Trainer and specialises in courses on Understanding Parliament, Government and Legislation.

Westminster courses are delivered on the parliamentary estate and delegates will, business permitting, take a tour of Parliament. We are also able to deliver courses at university campuses and virtual training sessions online.
