The UK freight and logistics industry remains vital to the safety and security of goods by air, rail, road, waterways or sea. Post-Brexit, consumers will expect the transportation and delivery of goods to continue as normal. However, attention to the sector-specific freight needs throughout this transition remains crucial. As the UK works towards a Brexit transitional period up until December 2020, what are the requirements from operators, their customers and government to ensure the necessary requirements are delivered within the timeframe for the smooth operation of freight in the long term?

This breakfast meeting will:

  • Explore the challenges and opportunities of Brexit for UK freight and its stakeholders
  • Consider the various steps the road, maritime and aviation sectors may need to take to prepare for the effects and harness the opportunities of Brexit
  • Review the investment in transport infrastructure and any changes to transport policy and regulation required
  • Discuss any new provisions needed for the licencing, regulation and training of operators and workers in the freight sector post-Brexit.
