The UK Aviation industry directly supports 240,000 jobs and contributes over £20bn to the UK economy each year. The Government is working to create a new Aviation Strategy by the end of 2018 that will set out the long-term direction of aviation policy making in 2050 and beyond. However, the question remains; how can we strike the balance of a strategy that is secure, sustainable and competitive while remaining focused on the needs of consumers in a global, outward-looking Britain? This Dinner Discussion will:
• Explore how the aviation sector can respond to a wide range of technological, security, environmental and customer service challenges
• Discuss the importance of the upcoming Aviation Strategy in promoting growth and competitiveness for a global and connected Britain
• Consider how government can support technology, innovation and skill development within this industry.
