In 2017 the UK Government announced a £35mn funding initiative for innovative clean energy projects. This investment follows the Government’s Industrial Strategy green paper commitment to double energy innovation investments to £400m per year by 2021. With renewable technology set to provide power for our homes, businesses and vehicles, how can we ensure the UK is building an energy supply to meet its affordability, security and sustainability targets? This Breakfast Meeting will:

• Explore new forms of smart energy systems and green processes of engineering

• Discuss the role that the gas network can play in both the short and long term demands of our energy supply

• Consider how the UK can remain competitive in the worldwide race to find cost-effective and innovative solutions to the challenges facing the energy sector.
