Performing Arts Fellowships
Britain’s vibrant and cutting-edge performing arts are at the centre of the country’s cultural economy. The performing-arts strand of the Cultural and Creative Industries Fellowship programme is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in some of the UK’s best-known cultural institutions.
This programme encompasses funding organisations such as
Arts Council England
, institutions such as the
Royal Opera House
and
Royal Shakespeare Company
and a range of smaller, regional arts organisations.
Example Programmes
Arts Council England (London and Regional Offices)
Shadow individuals including the CEO and observe the work of key departments and teams
Gain an understanding of the workings of the Arts Council
Spend time with the grants team, assessing applications and understanding the awards process
Meet with regional directors to discuss funding issues

Regional Arts Organisations
Visit arts organisation in or around your constituency for an alternative perspective on funding issues
Royal Shakespeare Company (Stratford)
Work with the team staging a new production – meet producers, learn about financial and forward planning, marketing and fundraising
Hands-on experience backstage – costumes, carpentry, technical and stage management, meet promising young artists and creative apprentices, visit theatre-craft projects
