Cultural and Creative Industries Fellowship

The Sage, GatesheadThe Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) Fellowship programme is a unique opportunity for MPs, MEPs and Peers to gain hands-on experience in Britain’s foremost cultural institutions and fast-growing creative industries. The programme brings parliamentarians and this thriving sector together for the first time in order to promote mutual understanding between Parliament and the cultural economy.

The CCI Fellowship is an opportunity, not only to learn about the creative economy, but also about the key issues faced by organisations working in this sector. Issues covered include: innovation, excellence and skills; government funding and access to finance; entrepreneurship, technology, digitisation and intellectual property; education, outreach and regional policy; marketing, funding and sponsorship.

Programme Strands

Participants have the opportunity to participate in a programme within one of three possible strands:

  • Performing Arts Placements hosted by organisations including: Arts Council England; the Royal Shakespeare Company; the Royal Opera House; and other regional arts organisations.
  • Museums, Galleries, Archives and Heritage Placements facilitated by organisations including: the British Library; the British Museum; the Tate; regional museums, galleries and archives; the Royal Institute of British Architects; and the Heritage Alliance.
  • Media and Creative Industries Placements hosted by organisations including: the BBC; Channel 4; ITV; the Publishers, Association; and Reed Elsevier.
