The 2008 global financial crisis not only shook the confidence of the financial services industry, but also affected a fundamental shift in public attitudes towards the sector. The year is now 2011 and global growth has returned, albeit at a significantly reduced pace to pre-crisis levels. Yet we are still engaged in a very public and highly emotive discussion about the role of financial services and the sector’s responsibility to UK society.
