Kevan Jones MP embarked upon a Fellowship in 2013 focusing on the aerospace industry covering themes such as aviation and logistics, aircraft leasing and manufacturing. His Fellowship also looked at financing, technology and sustainability.

A particular highlight was an access all areas tour of Heathrow Airport, where Kevan saw first-hand what it takes to keep the UK’s hub airport in full-flight.

“Having spent time with Boeing, Heathrow Airport and DHL, I have first-hand experience of how this sector works and a much greater appreciation of the complexities and challenges it faces. I would encourage every MP to take part in a Fellowship.”

Britain has world leading expertise in aviation and aerospace, with an industry that contributes £52bn to UK GDP and nearly 1mn jobs.

A Fellowship like Kevan’s enables parliamentarians to learn more about a thriving UK sector and greater understanding of the key issues including airport expansion, the gap in hi-tech skills needed to support the design and manufacturing of world renowned aircrafts.
